MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com:hello:0 -

S2P is the second state pension.

The basic state pension is paid to everyone who has made the appropriate NI contributions.and how do i know if i am contracted in or out to this? Thank-you very much.
Do you pay into a pension scheme?0 -
You would have to do something to contract out, so if you don't know what it is, my guess is that you haven't contracted out.
I have contracted out and get an annual statement from HMRC setting out the amount of NIC refunded to my personal pension. I also get a statement from my pension provider confirming receipt of the NIC.
The pension providers have generally discouraged contracting out in the last few years (as some people would be worse off), so you probably would have received at least annual warning letters from your pension provider if you had contracted out.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290
