New little venture

I had a thought today, I'm currently a full-time student with a young daughter and thoght about doing face-painting for children's parties.
I'm recently CRB checked and and studying Primary Education and also have a voluntry job that would prove I'm a responsible citizen
(don't really want to name what it is on here)
So, when I have got myself prepared with paints and tools, is there anything I need to do??

Insurance?
Also I seem to remember when I was involved in CRB checks in the past, that they only covered you for the 'post' (paid or voluntary) under which the check was made - seemed mad to me, but might be worth finding out if your existing one covers you for private work?0 -
When the likes of schools and charities are having fund raising days you often hear of them asking if anyone can do face painting . If you were to do some of these 'free' events it would help you to get experience and also get your name known so you may grow your business.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

A Mum from pre-school does this & they also do glitter tattoos. They seem to do OK out of it.
As Sailor Sam said free events get you known - we had someone in "The Range" when I went in the other bank holiday, doing faces & handing out leaflets.0 -
I shall look into the CRB thing thanks. Any ideas where/how I'd sort insurance? Never done anything like this before!
I also have a willing partner and daughter to practice on

Just phone your local insurance broker, they will be able to sort you out.

Hi Tink82

You can also do Princess parties
Some glittery tatoos and mini makeovers using childrens make-up
Pirate parties for the boys using face paints
I'm a body shop consultant and am starting to go into that area with it
Good luck with your new venture
