Debt free by the time I am 30??!!??

Well hello fellow debt free wannabees. I am a Long time lurker first time poster and this diary is as much for me as anyone else who wishes to read it!

As my user name suggests I am a part time working mum with two small boys, a hubby, one cat and one rabbit all along for the ride!

I have been trying to clear my debts And am so happy as today I have managed to clear my first small debt:p

it's only a small step really but to me it's huge and leaves me with an extre hundred quid a month to clear the rest of the debts which currently stand at

ms credit card. £3,000
NatWest cc. £3,000
od. £1,500
next. £150
virgin cc. £5000

there you have it my list of shame. I have just listed 26 things on eBay, joined every mystery shopper company on the site and every survey company too.

Wish me luck on my journey.

  • Hello!

Just wanted to say well done on clearing a debt! It's a great step and having that extra money will, like you say, help pay off your other debt x

  • Thanks Ziggy, Yeah every little helps. Still on a high from getting rid of a debt earlier!

I have just sat and listed 40 books on amazon marketplace. Anyone else had any luck shifting books on there?

Got some baby clothes to sift through now that the boys have grown out of to put on ebay while i watch BB.
  • Well done on starting your diary. I'm in a similar situation to you - work part time, mum to 3, got a dog rather than cat! Also owe a similar amount! Started my diary earlier this week and am going to try to use it to keep me motivated and find out why there's always so much month left at the end of the money!
Good luck - Looking forward to seeing how you get on!

  • Hi toolittletime, I will follow your diary too. See if we can help each other in any way.

I have two items ending on ebay today, one is a old digital camera which is currently on for 30 quid! I have been trying to put something on each day, that way it is not such a drag to add loads of items at once.

I also spent 70 quid food shopping yesterday boo, but did only buy good, healthy food. And a birthday present for the boys friend whose party it is today. These kids parties are so expensive.

Should have included in my origial post that I am 28 and 1 month so currently have 1 year and 11 months to get rid of this ball and chain debt. I figure the best way to clear the debt is to concentrate on one debt at a time and massivly overpay each month.

Plan is to clear the next bill next moth, then in theory I will have an extra 200 quid a month (from the bill I cleared yesterday and the next bill) to concentrate clearing the next debt which will be the virgin credit card.

We should not have to spend anything this weekend, lets see how we go.
