*sigh*
I want this diary to serve as a massive k*ck up my ar5e!
I got myself in debt 6 years ago now, before I met my ex I was brilliant with money and had 5k in the bank in savings!:o
It started with a little something on a credit card, (go on why not? he said) then another, then another, then my ex lost his job so I lent him money which was never paid back then going deeper and deeper into my overdraft using a loan to clear it all, then I lost my job and suddenly my debts were up to over 20k and I couldn't pay them back! Thinking back now I know that my ex was the start of it all, he had a terrible past with money and I should have known then not to lend him money, but "love" is blind. I'm not passing the buck, but I was only 18 and suddenly I'd gone from being a skint student to having all this "free money" learnt the hard way NILIF
Fast forward 6 years now, in retrospect I wished I'd gone bankrupt 3 years ago, but instead I spoke to Payplan and started a DMP as of 2006. I want to be self employed eventually so I suppose NOT going Bankrupt was better really?
But...my debts are still HUGE and as of today stand at £16425.07 :eek::eek: with repayment being 2016.
On top of this I've had a few troubles recently and am back into the overdraft in a big way and have £300 on a CC. I need to sort this out, no more sticking my head in the sand, and no more letting it just creep up again and again. when will I learn?!
So first things first I need to get rid of the CC and overdraft, then it's a case of working on the big number and making payments towards the debts right?
I'm not sure how I'm going to do it but I want to clear these asap, I can't put a date on it as I don't know what's realistic?

Hello!
Well done on starting a diary, hope it helps keep you motivated.
Have you thought about how you can pay things off? E.G, cutting back, budgeting, making more money etc?"I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderful."

Hiya
Thanks for the reply, in all honesty I can't cut down on anything!
I did a SOA with payplan and I have no spare money at the end of the month, so I'm working on getting extra money from all over the place. Doing market research this week so that can go in the bank to hopefully start clearing the o/dI'm also looking at either changing my job or getting a part time evening job to help up the funds.
I want to go self employed so that's why I decided not to go bankrupt, wise decision? I don't know!
Tonight is ebay night, I need to clear out some stuff and raise some funds. :T0 -
Might be a good idea to cut up the credit cards so you don't have the option to use them? I think with a DMP you are not supposed to take on any extra debt, but not sure what the 'penalty' is if you do. If you complete a up to date SoA we can look at where the money is going and what is realistic.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Good luck with your diary and getting everything sorted.
