Offset Unsecured Personal Loans

Can you get them any more!?!?!? i used to have one through Inteligent Finance (best thing since slices bread) - but having just checked - they no longer offer them. Not sure if its a change in business strategy (weird as this was their differentiator), due to the HBOS/LTSB merger, or due to market conditions!?

I also thought First Direct offered them - but appears to only be for mortgages.

having just done a google search - I could not find any other providers.

All i want is a standard unsecurued personal loan which can be offset against funds held in a linked current account.

Do they still exist??? Was a great idea and way of reducing both interest and tax implications.

Hepl!?

  • Surely if you have the money on a current account you don't need a loan - or have I missed something?

There is a product that fulfills your needs and is readily available - its called an overdraft!

you need to read up one what an offset loan is......completely different to an overdraft.

  • Well I don't think it exists and the next best thing is an overdraft - you only get charged for the amount borrowed.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I am in the same position looking for an offset loan and can't find anyone doing one any more. Did you find any OP?

JonesMUFC, just cos you don't understand the need for/benefits of a product doesn't make it a bad product or bad idea ;)

    Cheers, Des.

Apart from a credit union, that normally requires you to deposit funds alongside the loan that's it I'm afraid.
    Best Regards
