Can I recycles Glasses?

Hi,

My other half has an old pair of prescription glasses that are no longer any good for him. The frames are fine but he has since replaced them.

Can I recycle them anywhere? It would seem a shame to bin them.

Thanks.

Most opticians take them. I give mine to Specsavers

  • yes, but I cannot remember where - some charities send them out to thirld world countries, however, I do need to find out as I hav about six old pairs here cluttering up a drawer!

a quick google shows Vision Aid recycle them, and you can drop old glasses of in Vision Express stores

Doesn't sound right for opticians to pass on specs which will put their trade out of business. Bet they bin 'em.

They pass them on to third world charities. No conflict of interest.
