Thanks a million. Bought the top of the range floor cleaner for less money than I paid 2 years ago for my Rapide Deluxe - which for the record was bloody rubbish! Leaked awful, brushes and jets got clogged, tool constantly sprayed and the spring came out of the back so it wouldn't stand up! Im sure there is a big difference between a machine with a 6 year guarrantee and my old one with 1 year! If anyone needs specs check out this link here at Argos for specs and prices:

can the v-125 be used as a normal hoover, or is it more of a one-off deep clean type hoover? can it hoover without using the cleaning stuff and water? and finally how easy is it to fill and unfill the water?
thanks0 -
Mine came this evening, so I've not tried it out yet, but hopefully I'll get it going in the morningin. I've unboxed it, and it is a large machine (so much so the delivery man said it was the biggest hoover in the world!!!). It takes water, not sure whether hot or cold yet, but it is a carpet washer, and not a vacuum.
Shall update on how good it cleaned tomorrow.Top Cash Back: £882

Scottishgal ... I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on as I'm also interested in ordering this carpet cleaner.
Please can you tell me how many litres is in the bottle of cleaning fluid supplied with the cleaner, and what the name of the cleaning fluid is ... I will then know whether to stick a bottle of the stuff in the order. Thanks.
Hope it goes well!! Have fun

Wouldn't recommend a 'vax'. I bought one a a few years ago from Makro. What a piece of junk. I took it to the tip and then bought a Charles(brother to Henry) wetvac which is commercial grade quality. You can get one of those for not much more than this MSE offer and I'd lay money on the Charles still working in 5 years time. It comes with a very useful upholstery nozzle which I use for cleaning the stair carpets. Some websites allow you to choose the colour and I got a yellow colour to contrast Henry. I also got a couple of gallon containers of carpet cleaner in the deal and I'm still on the first one.0

Well, I'm back after an hours workout on my rugs/carpets!!
Just to note this is the 3rd carpet cleaner I have ever tried out, I had the bissell allrounder once upon a went, and it got taken back to the shop as it broke down, and it was heavy work as it was a cylinder.
I have had my carpets cleaned with a professional cleaner which I hired just about 6 weeks ago, and cleaned the whole house, we were very impressed with the results.
So now using the vax, I have to say it was easy to get going, there was no assembly required when I took it out of the box. There is a hose for upholstry and stairs, but I didn't use that part of it today. I shall post the pics to show the difference. This is slightly embarrassing as the high pixel camera makes the floors look so much worse on camera!!!
It was very straight forward to use, no mixing or working out which solutions go in where, just the tank with hot water from the tank, the fill the solution container with solution, it push a trigger as the vax does the work as you pull it forwards and backwards. It is fairly bulky and heavy but I still found it easier than the cylinder style cleaners where you have to bend over and scrub the floor.
WARNING - GROSS PICS UP AHEAD!!!!
Living room rug before:
Living room after:
After doing the living room rug:
Entrance hall before: this is a very heavy traffic area, it is a tiny area but everyone coming into the house steps on this carpet
Entrance hall after:
After hall: :eek::eek:
Strangely - but usefully, it picked up hair balls and left them on the rug just to pick off:
To answer the questions about which liquids it comes with, a 1.42L bottle of Ultra carpet & upholstery cleaning solution, a 473ml bottle of the same. And a 1.42L bottle of hard wood floor cleaner and also a 473ml bottle of the same. Should last a while, and at least do a full house.Top Cash Back: £882
