Why are you paying ntl £50? That is way too high...

I think you should get rid of NTL and just pay them what you owe. You might need to contact the Consumer Credit Counselling Service, link is at the top of this page. If you contact them you might be able to reduce the payments.

My advice is stop the smoking and drinking for a while, and as an alternative hire a book from the library and read that as entertainment. I would stop using the credit card and go back to basics.

Could you get a job as JSA is about surviving and not living on. £15 pw for food is really good - thats true money saving!

Hope this helps, but more people will turn up soon.

I take it you have told the council abot you problems paying and got some 'leeway' from them. c/tax is the one debt you really really need to keep in touch with them about. (I take it you have also applied for single persons discount on c/tax - you get 25% off) - you should also get council tax benefit/housing benift etc. Make sure you are getting everything you are entitled to.

What is the ntl bill for? is that 50 paying off some of the debt or is that for current services. That is WAY to much from your current income. If it's just for current services you need to switch to someone cheeper.

Why is your TV licence £20 per month - it's about £11 i think someone has said before (i don't have a tv so can't say exact cost but £20 is more than you need to be paying)

I also think your best bet would be to contact CCCS/CAB/Payplan for advice. Your income is very low. What type of jobs are you looking for? Is there anyway you could broaden the type of jobs you are looking at to increase you chances of finding one. I know it must be very hard for you are the moment.

    Good luck with everything

Thanx all for reading my SOA
NTL is paying off bills that i hadn't paid...they are also my ISP..reason i never paid bill was 'cause i wanted incoming calls only they said they couldn't do that so when i never paid they put me on incoming calls only..Amazing..
i do get housing and c/tax benefit..when i was working with my last job i started exactly 26 weeks to the day i claimed income suppert from so never got my run on (bad advice from the advisor) and had to take out a £110.00 crisis loan to live on as i wouldn't get paid for 6 weeks..due to pay dates ..so that got me caught up in the system..paid that off a while back now..the other was from when i put my handbag down in a clothes store and took my bag with contents..later found in public toilets all contents gone including sentimental things., now i only take out what i need to,.c/tax have been fab and said to keep in touch if i get any bother with re-payments, and i really think £2.50 per week is acceptable as its a priority debt...don't get ctc as Son is almost 17 nor c/b either...he only gets a small wage as he's doing a skillseekers so he pays for his travel and food for work then his haircuts fortnightly(likes to keep it v.short) he buys his own ps2 rentals and clothes and trainers so i can't grumble and if i am short he will give me what he can..he is good..i am going to bank today and make an appointment with CAB so hopefully i will get this sorted...as for work i am down for office admin..retail..Dr wants to sign me off as he doesn't think i'm in the right mind to work but i don't see that as an option right now...
will post later as i'm off to job centre to sign and see about a re-training programme in my area then to bank etc..etc ..etc :T

if your son is still in education with the training you may still be entitled to Child benefit.

Worth looking into. Does he get EMA?
