Hi Jewels,
I am very sorry about the mess that your ex has left you in
I am not sure I can help you very much..My best advice would be that you should seek legal advice with regards to your ex's half of the finance and the agreement...you could contact Citizens Advice intially and see where you stand..
Here is a link to their website - you may find something helpful online - otherwise contact your nearest centre http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/
Ultimately if your name is on the finance it is your responsibility to make the payments - I know with my finance that the only way out of the finance or to end the finance early is to get an early settlement fee and pay this in full... but I dont know the ins and outs so you really should seek advice from a professional
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help and I hope that you manage to sort everything out0 -
If you phone welcome finance ask for a VT qoute. Once you have paid half of the total amount payable they can collect the car with you owing nothing - make sure there is no damage to the vehicle as they will charge for this.0

thanks,,, no damage to the car a very few mileage done in the months had the car,,,will ring and ask for vt and hopefully will be left with no debt,,0

Does your ex agree to it? If he refuses to give the car back you dont have a leg to stand on im afraid.0

he wont pay towads the joint finance on it and all the payments i have done through my own name,,, i am been made reduant in january and he cancelled the payment protection as it was in his name and his not bothered about the car0

But is the debt in both your names? If so,he is still liable even though he may not have contributed to the payments.0
