What to do with dry curried chickpeas?

I have some of these, purchased from the Asian section at the supermarket. They are not raw chickpeas, you can eat them as a snack as they are IYSWIM. I assume they have already been cooked, then seasoned and dried out again so they go crunchy. However they are VERY spicy and a bit stale as they are quite old.
I was thinking about making soup with a handful rather than throwing them away - but not really sure how to go about cooking them?
I was hoping to keep them whole in the soup, but if it all goes wrong I could get the Bamix out and make a variation on curried lentil soup ... Another thought was to make a chickpea curry. Any advice or ideas welcome!!

Hmm, not sure, if they are crunchy like the dried soy beans you can get, I don't know how they would work in soup, but it is worth a try!
You could crunch them up and use them like nuts to top pad thai or currys too I suppose?0 -
I know the ones you mean - a friend brings ones with a less spicy flavour back from turkey. I think the crunching up idea from hotcookie101 is probably the best - and then maybe mixing with a non-spicy something - crushed peanuts, sunflower seeds to spread the heat. How would a crunchy savoury yoghurt dip raita type thing as a side dish work?0

you could crush them up & use them to top or mix into rice salads, I use other Asian snacks, bombay mix, gathia, moth dal etc & it works really well0
