I got mine from Tesco- its by "one for all" which I think a few stores sell. Its about £20 I think and has two antenni things which help get a better signal without having to shift the box about the top of the TV all the time!
It has a very good signal- all the aerials they do have good signals IMO- I have such a poor signal otherwise that there is nothing, only fuzzy sounds and broken up conversations without it.

I also get no mobile signal and cannot do anything wirelessly with my internet connection, we seem to live in a black hole- even when Orange planted a mobile tarriff on our roof (which is now off) we still got no mobile signal- its to do with the building being made with both steel and concrete.

Thank you. I get absolutely no picture at all with my freeview upstairs, it says on the screen "no signal" so will this booster get me a picture from nothing? Can you tell me the make and number of this booster?

    Thank you :D

    Some here at CPC.

Though personally, I cannot see how you can boost a signal?
If it comes to your aerial, for example, at 60%, how can a "booster" receive any more? If it is only sent/received at 60% I don't get how you can drag any more!

I had one of those booster boxes that you plugged the aerial into and it was useless.

Along the lines of what derrick said, it really depends how good the aerial is that your plugging into the booster.

    It's not a good one.

I think those booster boxes work as an amplifier, so the signal you are getting is amplified. But if it is a poor signal, the booster box can only do so much.

    I had the same problem.

If it is just for 1 tv, you might be better off just buying one of the aerials that other people have suggested.

From the link above, #4; -

    RECEPTION DIFFICULTIES.
A good television aerial, correctly positioned, will improve a snowy picture and reduce ghosting. A signal booster will amplify weak signals or supply several television sets from one aerial. A signal booster used on its own however, will not resolve local reception problems or cure ghosting.
