Has anyone tried Fresh Pods?

I noticed Fresh Pods advertised on one of the shopping channels the other day:o. (OH was flicking, honest:rolleyes:.)

I was just wondering if anyone had tried them? I know quite a few people use the keep fresh bags, and also wondered how the price would compare. I throw far too much over ripe fruit and veg away and really need to do something about it. I googled them and found some cheaper than the shopping channel ones:D.

There are some similar ones available on ebay, but they just seem to be for fridges. I'm definitely looking at the fruit bowl here.

BTW I'm in no way connected to any manufacturer/retailer of these items.

Hmm.. interesting... I've not used one, but would also be interested to see what people think as we always overbuy fruit and veg it seems...

A quick bump. Do I have to be the tester?

I hope someone tries them - I'd like to know if they are any good for future reference but I can't justify buying them now as I have several of the stay fresh bags on the go (the ones from Lakeland). The bags do make a difference ( even the reduced to clear fruit & veg stay fresh for a good while) - I reuse them but I have to admit I find it a bit of a hassle washing and drying them. This looks a lot handier though it does look a bit pricey on the face of it ( & is that the price for one pod? It says put the pods ( plural) in the veg drawer so would you need to buy more than one?)

It says "only £12.99 including free P&P for a 12 month supply" so I guess you get more than one.

I thought that meant you maybe got one pod with two wee refill sachets - it says one sachet lasts 6 months .

Looking at the photo of the "kit" on the buy-it page, I think you're right - it looks like the kit contains one pod and two refill sachets.

I'd also love to hear from anyone who has tried them.

You are probably right, but I read it as you get everything you need to last 12 months. Either you only need one pod, or you get as many as you need.

Either way, it won't be me who tests it ;)

I've decided to email them and ask:) - I'll let you know what they say.
I might even be tempted into trying them out if you get two;)

I got this reply from the manufacturer, you do get two pods.

Thank you for your enquiry. The Fresh Pod 12 Month Kit contains two plastic
pods and four sachets, enough for two to be used for 12months.
The refill kit contains four sachets enough for 12months but without the
    green plastic pods.
We recommend that you place a pod in each fruit and veg drawer as this has
proved the most effective way of prolonging the life of your fresh produce.
Fresh Pod will work when placed directly in the fridge however as it absorbs
the ethylene gas from fruit and vegetables the closer it is to them the
    better.

Just ensure that when your not using the sachets they are in a sealed
plastic bag(provided) and away from fruit and veg.

I hope this has been helpful, please feel free to contact us if you have any
    further queries.

Does anyone know if they would work outside the fridge (e.g. in a fruit-bowl on the counter)?
