Feb/Mar mindset

We pay Council Tax and Water Rate monthly, but they're spread over 10 months, so we pay only one in Feb and April, and neither in March.
Instead of feeling I have more to spend, I've persuaded myself that in those 3 months I don't go shopping, and we eat as much as possible out of our stocks. Last week I thawed the carcase from our Christmas turkey, and made soup. OK, anyone who freezes bones needs to get out more, but May arrives and I'm OK with the arrival of the bank statement.
