Starting a blog

Photos get people coming back - it's far more interesting as do good articles relating to them.
Find some related blogs and offer to link to them as well, you'll become more well known. My blog is about my allotment and self-sufficientish life, but it's the picture posts that get the most unique visitors through the door.

You could be just like Kirstie Allsopp without the hand-blown glasses (hope I haven't offended you if you meant to have handblown glasses
)

I'm not a hand blown glasses type of girl, so no offence taken! (unless they were offered on freecycle and then I might think again!!!)0 -
I agree that starting out Blogger is probably you're best bet, you can be up and running in no time. Way back when, I started with it and if it hadn't been so easy I probably would not have contiued.
Agreed, people love photos and I think the best advice overall is just to be yourself and do what/post what you enjoy. Otherwise it becomes too much like work, if you're enjoying doing your posts you'll keep posting!
Best of luck and please let us know when your "up"!
**As an added bit - I've posted before and would like to bring up again, is it possible to have a thread here on the OS board for users to put a link to their blog so long as it's not commercial, offensive or adult content? I would really enjoy seeing others blogs, but am too lazy to rummage through everyone's profiles to see if they have a link. I would love to have a folder in my RSS feeds of OS'ers blogs!**

Well, I never!
Ok, yes I did....just that once...... :rotfl:
I think I may have seen that a while back, but it's asking what blogs you read, I was asking for a thread where any OS posters who have their own blog could post their link.
Possibly not specifically OS blogs, but MSE OS'ers who have blogs which may or may not be wholly OS topics.
Goodness I hope that made sense, not so sure now0 -

If it's not mainly OS, it doesn't really belong on the OS boardI've cleared some space in my inbox, if you'd like to PM me
