I saw your post late last night but did not reply

Have a look at this link on the OFT Web Site
    Debt Collection Guidance

Part of the relevent info is here

False representation of authority and/or legal position

2.3 Those contacting debtors must not be deceitful by misrepresenting their authority and/or the correct legal position.

2.4 Examples of unfair practices are as follows: a. falsely implying or claiming authority, e.g. claiming to work on instructions from the courts, claiming to be bailiffs or, in Scotland, sheriff officers or messenger-at-arms.

A formal complaint to the OFT can be made about this as it is way out of order

It is a crime in this country to impersonate a police officer, it would be worth your while (or your brothers at that) to make a formal complaint to the police and get a reference number so if anything ever went to court you have evidence of harrassment by them.

It might prove difficult to prove though since it is a child's word against Capquest. I'm sure they'd just deny it.

Jitsuguy is right it is an offence under The Police Act to unlawfully impersonate a Police Officer without authority.

The fact the witness is a child should make no difference. This is often the case in criminal matters.

i would deffo make a complaint to the local Police and alo to the OFT. I despair at the behaviour of such people. Of course they have a job to do but is this the right way??? NO
