  • seems a bit fishy that they did not get your letters, did you confirm that
    with royal mail?
Call them again and stick to your guns about the £20. They cant take what
you dont have. I have had a couple of letters saying creditors will come to my door but when i call them to discuss it, they remove that threat.
Also call national debt help line for advice or CCCS I contacted them for my
DMP and they are first class in helping you.

    Hi,
As far as I know they have to have a court authority to enter your house, they are just trying to frighten you, and this can be classed as harassment.

I would not bother calling them - they will just ignore you and try to get you to pay an amount you can't afford.

How long ago did you have the catalogue?
Has there been a period of 6 years where no payment was made towards the debt?

There is a letter you can send to stop dorrstep collectors from calling. I'll have a look for it and post a link in a few minutes.

These are common scare tactics. Debt collection agencies cannot enter your home and they cannot emplor bailiffs either.

(And as I have seen some scare tactics on here, they cannot send you to prison) Pay them £20, they will cash your payment and just keep doing this every month. If you get into a situation where you have spare money, pay them just to get rid of these clowns.

Here's the letter to stop doorstep collectors.
Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I have noted your repeated attempts to contact me over the past few weeks and these have been duly logged by time and date.

Furthermore, should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep visit”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make such an appointment with you.

There is an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v Sheppard & Short Ltd [1959] 2 QB 384. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and, if you do so, you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.

    Yours faithfully,
