Anyone bought a home under home-change with persimmons?

Hi there I have recently viewed a property with Persimmon homes and am looking at their home change offer which is where they will market my property for 8weeks (as a part x) and I can do a 85/15% shared equity on the new property..

everything is going good and happy with all figures & details etc.

got an AIP from the Halifax & am now looking to do the full application however I have contacted the sales office who advised that I cannot reserve the property until partial missives have been signed due to the home change offer??

anyone had any dealings with this that could help me out...

Did they explain the partial missives? Be sure that you know what you are signing. Best to let your solicitor look it over...

Why don't you ask for a straight forward part-exchange? They did them twelve years ago for me...

This seems like a scheme dreamt up to keep interest up in their new developments, without lumbering themselves with properties that they might not shift...

If they do not feel happy taking on properties at this time, what does that tell you about the direction they think the market is heading, or the specifics of their over-pricing of new developments?

8 weeks is damned ambitious in a thriving market. In today's climate, its pretty unrealistic, and maybe somewhere in the small print is the catch that explains why they are bothering with it.
