Credit Report question

Hi All,

I recently applied for a car on finance. When the salesman was asking for my details, he said oh there is a mr x at another property with your name. This turned out to be my parents house. I asked my parents if i am still on the electrol roll at their property and they said they dont receive the card with my name on any more.

I have checked my credit file and it shows as a linked address?, does this mean a lender will assume i am living at my currently property and my parents?

At my previous address the first letter of my surname is incorrect on the electrol roll section in my credit report.

Will the linked address and incorrect surname have affected me getting the credit even more?

I also have a default on my file which is going to come off in nov 2009. When this comes off how positive affect will this have on my score?

Write to the credit agency and get it corrected if it is obvioulsy wrong? As long as there is no debt in your name at your parents address, then it should make no difference to your ability to get credit?
