Old Debt letter
I recently posted a comment regarding an old debt which arfter 11 years has tried to get money from, someone kindly advised me to write them a letter (which I was given a template of), Basically the letter told them about the legislation and that they have to prove that they have been trying to chase me.
I have since had a letter back from them, they didn't acknowledge that I had written them a letter, they have said that I can pay them half the money and that will clear the debt.
To be honest I don't want to do this and would like to know where to go from here, does anyone have any advise that woould help me in my situation.
Please bear in mind that this debt is from 11 years ago!!!
Thanks Flimsy. )

There are some companies who buy old debts for pennies and then try to collect on them without the person knowing there rights. And knowing they are usually unenforceable
You really have to do nothing, you can send the letter again if you want, registered post, but thats about it.

ignore the letter and shred it they can do nothing providing you do not pay towards the debt. Give national debt line a call and ask them for advice.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
