The reply from muffle says it all really. Its a US spec TV adapted for the UK market.
Im never too sure how these 480 line sets deal with our PAL 576 lines. Do they drop lines (ie cut off the top and bottom), or do they sort of downscale and squeeze them in (which would adversely effect the aspect ratio wouldnt it?)

Personally don't see the point of buying a non-HD ready plasma at the moment. These will as cheap as CRT TVs by Xmas this year - plus you will have more idea which is the way ahead by then - LCD or Plasma. For once in my life, I'm happy to bide my time.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Lots more uninformed rubbish here... sigh.

Firstly, it is not a 'US spec tv adapted for the UK market' - what a load of rubbish. It is the standard resolution Plasma Panel as used in every SD plasma made, UK, US or anywhere else. Resolution is not everything, a good SD plasma will beat a bad HD plasma anyday. An SD plasma will look much, much better than a HD LCD when displaying SD feeds.

Secondly, 95% of you probably wont even use HD anytime within the next few years, I'd guess the majority wont use HD before its time to replace the set.

Although I agree its not that good an offer. Bush aren't great, and the price isn't 'that' cheap.
