the fee is £1.30 (sender didnt pay full postage) but £1 of that is handling fee, so this could just be an unstamped letter for 30p? hmmmm so i could be paying £1.30 for junk?

Kemo, is the Sorting Office close enough for you to go there? They'll let you look at it before deciding if you want to pay for it or not.
My Step-Mum sent me a card & enclosed a funny fridge magnet, not realising it would make the cost more due to the width - once I recognised the writing, I paid up, but I've had junk email I've just rejected before!
Hope it's a good win for you, that you don't mind paying the extra for!

I had this happen to me on a comp prize a few weeks back. The extra fee was £3.99.After I had collected the prize I emailed the promotor and attched a photo of the envelope,so the PO label could be seen.
The promotor mailed me back straightaway and asked me if I would like another item from them as compensation.naturally I said Yes so I've got two very nice Bluetooth kits for the car,one visor and one in-ear.0
