Not enough!
I did it a few years ago and had hundreds to deliver and only got about £50. Considering you are using your own fuel and your time and the directories weigh a tonne in the car so your suspension will suffer. There must be easier ways of making money, I'd never do it again.0 -
Couldn't agree more. Did it 2 years ago and got paid about £80 for around 800 books if I remember correctly. Would never do it again, you're supposed to knock at every door and hand it over then mark on your sheet that you've done that. Had 2 people try to give me their old one for me to take and recycle, one was asking something about a directory at the other end of the country and another asking how much do I charge for an advert! They still didn't really understand when I told them in a friendly and polite manner I wasn't working for Yellow Pages but a delivery company.
About half way through was so fed up with it I just put each one on the doorstep, didn't bother knocking. They pay you after they've allegedly checked you've done it property, by then I was beyong caring if I wouldn't get paid but I did so that helped! (not much it was only 80 odd quid!)
For the amount they charge for a YP advert they should be paying at least double for the amount of work.
You can only carry a pack of 6 books at a time and so unless you have a trolley you're forever going back to the car to get more then moving the car and it takes forever!0 -
Some c*** did that at my house. I used to arrive/leave by the back door and worked full-time 50 miles away, so was out of the house 12 hours a day.... didn't notice it festering in the front garden (they must have just chucked it at the door) for a week, it was useless. All wet/rained on ... and a snail crawling over it. Bag was split, had to bin it.stuartw2009 wrote: »About half way through was so fed up with it I just put each one on the doorstep, didn't bother knocking.0 -
