Hi there
not sure if this is the right place to post but you don't get more OS than cloth nappies eh?
So I am after some advise on which cloth nappies to use - its been 6 years since I had my DD2 so I am sure things have changed a lot over that time & this time around I have had a DS so wonder which nappies are best at being absorbent & also not too bulky
any help etc would b great
many thanks

Cannot help with your question but you should look up real nappies. You local council may run a scheme.0

I used a variety of different ones, but mainly Cotton Bottoms pre-folds (I don't think they do them anymore though!). I used to kite fold them though and fasten with a nappy nippa rather than tri-folding them as a pad.
Your best bet is to find a real nappy advisor in your area, they will talk you through your options and find what is right for you.
Boo at your council stopping the scheme!0 -

There are lots of recommendations on here. I loved cloth nappies and worked as an advisor for a while. I prefered the motherease/onelife and tots bots which are shaped like disposables and have velcro or popper fastenings. You just pop a waterproof wrap on over the top.
Prefolds weren't for me but I know people who swear by them!

This completely illustrates the point that finding an advisor who will work out what is right for you is the best bet. I had some Motherease and Tots Bots shaped nappies but didn't get on with them at all, I found they took longer to dry than pre-folds and also didn't fit my daughter very well, she was small and skinny so it was easier to fold ones to fit her shape! But I have met so many people who swear by shaped nappies.0 -
Try a few different ones - lots of suppliers will sell samples - I used pocket nappies as dh found them easiest to get to grips with. Popper fatenings are a little trickier than velco but better at foiling a toddlers attempts to undo them. Microfibre and bamboo nappies dry faster than cotton or hemp but tend to be bulkier. You need to weigh up whats important to you - price, ease of use, drying time, slimness, absorbancy etc etc and go from there as waht suits you won't suit the next person.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

try here - she runs a nappy trial so you can find out which ones work best. She'll give advice too.

I tried 5 different nappies - they are £1 a week if you don't order anything and the amount you pay becomes a credit with a free trial if you do.
We use Micro Diddy Diapers - shaped + sized, they are cotton + quick-drying. I wet-soak them and wash every 3 days with 20 and line or airer dry.0 -
There are loads of absolutely gorgeous nappies out there if you have the money to spend on them, but for value-for-money basics that last for ages I can totally recommend Motherease and Tots Bots. Oh, and Bumbles/Bumpers for nights. And Motherease for wraps too.
My DS is 3 1/2 and still wears nappies at night and I haven't had to buy any new nappies for at least two years. A few of those he's still wearing (and all of his wraps, I think) actually date from his very first year!I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)
