The one thing I would say not to scrimp on is wedding photograper........
I learnt from my own mistakes with that one & dont have any decent pictures from my wedding. So I really wouldnt go with the friend with a decent camera idea.
I attended a friends wedding earlier this year & they had a signing frame there. Basically they bought a big frame & had a picture of them in the middle, then around the picture everybody wrote a little something on the day.
Favours are not a MUST DO at weddings, the last 2 I have attended didnt have individual favours, just a nice bowl in the middle of the table with a few chocs/sweets in. Nobody seemed to mind that.
Flowers could be done in silk rather than fresh, saves tons of money & you can get some lovely ones now. My b/maids had wrist corsages made from silk flowers & also the men all had silk button holes done too.
If you have any "crafty" friends or relatives, get them roped in to make as much as possible. I did my own invites for our wedding..we saved a fortune
Do you have a friend with a nice car?? We got our friend to do our wedding car with his merc, decorated it with ribbons etc & saved money there.
I personally make wedding jewellery for a living, so can give you some tips oncutting costs there if you need it.
I did my whole wedding, including 2 weeks in florida for approx £3000, so it can be done on a budget but without it looking cheap
Hope that helps, pm me if you need any more help0 -
you can get rings for much cheaper at trade prices. go to bettsmetalsales.com. We had both for less than £200QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0

.
The rings we can't and won't budge on, they are perfect and made to match my engagement ring, they are from a local craft centre which is currently under threat of being shut down and there are lots of reasons we can't budge on rings, but I do agree may be buying cheaper rings for the wedding and replacing them at a later date on an annerversary or something may be a lovely idea.
Thank you again x
just saw this. please ignore my post on betts metals. cheers!QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0
