I think all kitten heels look frumpy. It's just their way!
Its to go with a dressyish dress, so needs some heel.
A lot of mid height gold shoes are very matronly:eek:0 -

I went to the races a few weeks ago and wore flat patent black gladiator-style sandals (From New Look) with a posh, silk strapless dress. Looked great and when all my friends were whining about sore feet and sitting down in agony, I was still going strong!
I don't think posh dresses necessarily need a heel. It's all about trying things out and seeing how they look. Hope she finds something suitable!

I thing flat is actually far more chic than mid heel, if the dress is long, or very short. if its midlength and her legs need soe help a small heal might be the way to go. Flats will certainly me more elgant, IO, than a wedge, even though I love wedges. Its to go with a dressyish dress, so needs some heel.

There's a pair of sandals on this page under "low heels", the Veneek diamante ones, which come in gold and have had lots of great reviews and they go up to an 8.0 -
