Patio Awning

I want to buy a retractable awning for our patio. I'm not retired, I don't live in a bungalow and I definitely don't want one with stripes! I know John Stalker advertises them on the telly but I expect firms like that charge the earth. We have just come back from France and lots of properties there had them, including some really nice, plain cream or white ones which is the sort of thing I am looking for. Our patio faces south, has little shade and can get unbearably hot in the summer. We want to be able sit out when it is very hot or even - more likely in the UK - when it is raining but warm. But shade from the sun is the main thing. My husband is reasonable at DIY but we are interested in looking at full supply and fit, as well, depending on cost. Thanks everyone!

My brother has just got back from the Netherlands with an awning that looks just like the Argos one above..

Great price - they're a lot cheaper in France too - just didn't have room for one in the car. Have found out that Wickes do them too and am awaiting the new brochure and price list in the post.

The Wickes brochure has arrived - still mainly stripes for some reason! Also fairly pricey though and way more expensive than all of the above with he cheapest starting at £359. Will keep looking for the elusive cream, non-striped version so suggestions still welcome.
