Hello
I just want to ask wether anyone has had to deal with a debt collection acency named Allied International Credit (UK) Ltd? I have for the last 12 months as they are a means to repay a Personal loan which I was Defaulted on with Cetelem. Thing is that I don't trust them for two reasons:
Firstly the inform me that I owe more money than I thought (verses my online Equifax account states at last update) and secondly I received a letter stating that they no longer deal with my account (Jan 2006) yet 3 months later I have to repay the full amount to Cetelem NOW!!! via AIC as stated in their letter to me!
I'd be grateful of any suggestions, should I just avoid repaying AIC and contact the original compnay Cetelem and repay them directly, no middle man?

my OH deals with AIC for his loan repayments. He doesn't trust them either.
He has only just started with them about 3 months ago when the debt got passed over.
the trouble he had setting up a payment arrangement with them was bad enough .. they kept askin for what he didnt have and coming out with the usual threats of court .. then finally accepted the arrangemnet but 'forgot' to set up the direct debit ... thus 2nd payment did not come out automatically/it was late (by a few days after OH noticed it had not been paid) and they tried to say he was not honouring his agreement.
we've noticed also recently that they use some sort of voicemail system to ring (so when we answer our landline a bloody computer talks back at us!!) .. it leaves a message but doesn't repeat the number to call back so your stuck again ... CRAZY!!
As long as you pay i dont think it matters who you pay it to ... i'd pay to Cetelem like you've been told and see if they contact you again0 -
I'd be inclined to pay to Cetelem, but also include copies of the 'we don't deal with you/ give us the money' letters too.
Lenders generally do want to knpw the DCAs they use are at least *competent*. Any encouragement to get them to buck their ideas up is a good thing, and would help direct business to the ones that can keep a track of what is going on.Debt free 4th April 2007.

unless the dca have bought your debt do not deal with dca ,deal with the creditors direct make your offer of payment and stick to it increase when you can afford it .
explain to the creditor you will not deal with a dca and say why and tell them you will send payment direct if they argue tell them you will see them in court they will accept0
