Early Settlement fee

I have just paid off my personal loan. I have paid the early settlement fee and now closed the account. Yesterday i received a letter of my old bank asking me to send them a cheque for £130.00 as their computer had assumed thta i had paid the August payment before i paid the settlement fee. Are they aloud to do this? I do not want to pay another £130.00 after i ahve paid the settlement fee and closed the account. Any help much appreciated!!

If the settlement was calculated based on you having made the august payment, and you haven't paid it or cancelled the DD before they took payment then this seems fair enough.

Post all the details if you want someone to check the settlement calculation.
