So the schools went back today, yipppeee!
Anyone else glad summer holidays are over?!!
I am, and i don't even have kids!! lol, my little brother was really starting to get on my nerves.
Anyhoo, i made some cakes at the weekend, and he took the last two with him to school today.
He asked me to make a regular thing of it for him, which i'm thinking of doing, as it will save my mum money too if he takes something with him, instead of going to greggs or something at break time.
So any ideas what to make, i don't want to be making the same things.
I made choc chip muffins and reeces pieces muffins at the weekend there.
Thinking maybe cookies this time, anyone else have any ideas, or recipes?
Looking for something simple, that a 12 year old boy will eat.

there's Biscuits and Cakes recipes listed in the Complete Cookery Collection
and more recipes on the Grocery Challenge recipe list including muffins and millie's cookies
Twink's hobnobs are highly recommended all over the OS forum... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I second twinks hobnobs - and you can add choc chips to some, nuts or dried blueberries etc. to others. Other ideas are scones, welsh cakes, shortbread. They should all freeze OK.0

What a lovely kind and thoughtful girl you are, your brother is a lucky lad! If you need adopting any time, just let me know."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

thank you, theres 10 years between us, so i do tend to "mother" him sometimes.
thanks for all the great ideas. I think i'm going to try some things out today while i'm off, and freeze them.0 -
My daughter used to take cakes into school to share on Friday afternoons and the chocolate brownies were definitely the biggest hit with the boys!!. However they also really liked pumpkin muffins which are a good way of getting a bit of healthy stuff into the sweet base.
Otherwise I recommend traybakes which you can cut into portions and freeze. If you've got enough room in the freezer do a couple in different flavours and then if it's a rush in the mornings you can just grab a square. Chocolate is always popular but also try making a basic sponge mixture with golden granulated sugar instead of white and make the buttercream icing with golden icing sugar. It tastes like caramel but it's as easy as it getsIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
