I've made a mitake. Is this viable to fight for?

I originally thought our budget fell under £96 a month therefore being exempt from IPA but I've looked into it and it's not. Will you have a look at my SOA, give me you opinions and comment on whether I'll be allowed to fight for these extra's to be taken into account each month.

Be honest with me (as you always are) because I'm a very quiet person and hate having to ask for things so if i'm out of order asking OR for this lee way then I'd rather know instead of making an upset goose of myself . Here goes

DH salary after tax 1400
Tax credits 210

mortgage 585
council tax 116
housekeeping family of 4 400
gas elect 72
water 25
telephone/broadband (I do distance learning course in prep for uni) 23
petrol for DH work 90
clothing family 4 60
car ins
life ins
building contents
car tax
car repairs
car mot
my course fees
2 mobile phones 120 altogether

All this went on the BR order leaving us with a surplus of 119. That means that we will have to pay something out of that doesn't it. What worries me is I havn't accounted for

daughters school meals 28ish
daughter milk 4.40
DH lunches at work even £5 a week is cutting it fine
school trippayments when needed
dental
optical, we're both glasses wearers
and pescription costs.

Am I grasping at straws here not wanting to pay any thing back. Damn right I am but we're £20 of the threshold and I feel we've cut ourselves sort on the original declaration.

Please tell me what u think

Miche

What about haircuts for me and my two girls? Are they allowed? I've been cutting my own hair for so long, and my girls. I'm not a scruff just havn't had the money to do it. I suppose I should just carry on cutting and stop dreaming

Have you had your OR interview yet - i cant remember?
if not do a new one and when the OR goes through the one you submitted add in what you have just listed and discuss it. The OR knows its not set in stone just say i was in a bit of a tizz and ask - eg I wasnt sure i could put anything for child related things can i and they will say yes and give you a figure.

I know its easy to say dont panic, but hunni you will give your self a headache. I found my OR was lovely and very reasonable.

No havn't had my OR interview yet, have no clue when it will be either which is making it worse.

I'm guessing OR will say that school meals etc is what the child benefit money is for which I havn't added on my SOA.

I guess i'll have to be just brave and ask, whatever we have to pay is still going to be better than where we have been.

    Thanks

What about RAC cover (we should be able to have a car as DH works 20 miles away and no bus service can get him there in time to open his depot at 7.30am), can I add that as a figure?
  • Hi,

I've been trying to find a few SOA based on children & school activities. I'm not sure what the allowances are for school dinners etc are. I know it's different for first & secondary schools.

    DH salary after tax 1400
    Tax credits 210

    mortgage 585
    council tax 116
housekeeping family of 4 400 I put 550 for mine.
    gas elect 72
    water 25
telephone/broadband (I do distance learning course in prep for uni) 23
    petrol for DH work 90
    clothing family 4 60
    car ins
    life ins
building contents - do you have contents with accidental repair? This will be approx £20
    car tax
    car repairs
    car mot
    my course fees
    2 mobile phones 120 altogether

All this went on the BR order leaving us with a surplus of 119. That means that we will have to pay something out of that doesn't it. What worries me is I havn't accounted for

    daughters school meals 28ish
    daughter milk 4.40
DH lunches at work even £5 a week is cutting it fine
school trippayments when needed - Could put down £30.00 to include any after school activities as well. School trips can be so costly and they all come at once.
dental and pescription costs - If no exemptions then £10 each for you and your OH.
    optical, we're both glasses wearers - £20
    Haircuts - £10 adults, £5 children

These figures are only approx and you may have to reduce them to your I&E as you don't want a deficit.

You could put your clothing up as that is not much for a family of 4.Same with your gas/electric. You may find your Mobile allowance cut as the OR only allows aprox £20 each!.The rest i agree with donna.

If no interview is needed with the OR just ring, write or e-mail them askingfor a new I&E sheet to fill in, an explain you missed some things off.

I couldn't see holiday on there - (but I'm a bit blonde and miss these things sometimes) I'm afraid I can't remember what the allowance is (£40 / person??) but you can have an allowance for a small annual holiday as well.

Thank you so much for your advice.

It appears that I have cut myself sort and there's so much I havn't added in. I'm calming down now with regard to it. I know I can fight my corner and really I should
