Post on your local freecycle for exercise gear!

Watch out for running shoes etc specials in Lidl and Ali in the run up to summer. They have trekking shoes etc very cheap in lidl this week.

Local council facilities can be excellent.

Ask local college which does sports coaching type courses if they have any trainee perosanl trainers to come and practice on you!!

Hi! If you're up for a long read you can check out the Debt and Fat Free Wannabe thread which is great.

Another suggestion would be to engage in some DVD tarting (like signing up for the Blockbuster trial, and if you do it through Quidco you even get £15 cashback) and rent exercise DVDs. I particularly like Pilates.

Finally, the best tool I have found for weight loss is food journalling. I know it's tedious and boring, but it will definitely force you to think about what you put into your mouth. Good luck, and come join us in DFFW!

I so struggle with this one too.
i am also disabled so am limited in what I can do.
for you though - what about skipping, mini tramploline, exercise vidios from the charity shop. How about walking dog everyday just for now? Even five mins on bike will help.
in a way you are lucky to have a goal to aim for.Think you can aim to loose 2-3 lbs per week so a stone by June might be managable.
There is a thread somewhere about debt free & fat free wannabes-sure someone will be along soon to gaive you a link

Walking, cycling, swimming, gardening. If you need to take anything upstairs, do it immediately rather than saving it until you have a pile. I make sure I stretch up when I dust.

Good luck with the weight loss

Hello fellow WW person! I do it online so am spared the weigh in, but I know exactly how you feel. I actually took up running after changing my gym membership to my office gym - so I cant do anything else at the weekends. I started running for 2 mins then walking for one, and gradually increased the running and decreased the walking. I can now run about 3 miles easily and have entered the race for life. If you knew what I was like at school (I was always the one with the note) you would understand how amazing this is!

Good luck. I will spend the rest of the evening craving points after my points controlled dinner!!.....

Well done on the debt front and keep it going gilly41.

Do check out the Debt and Fat Free Wannabe thread lots of motivating going on there as well as lots of good ideas.

I'd been about the same weight for years (although it was slowly creeping up) and never really had an issue with it - until Xmas ('05). I actually manages to lose about 2st 4Ibs.

I have put about half a stone back on and am working on that and a little more (I'm still classed as over weight :p ).

The first stone I lost (in about 4 weeks) was mainly thanks to watching what I ate and walking. I walked for about 15 mins before and after work every week day and tried to fit in a big walk on the weekend. It didn't seem like much but it really made the difference and the weight that I lost doing that gave me the confidence to go to swimming (which I love).

    Good luck with it. :j
