Halifax taken valuation fee

Just noticed today that the Halifax have taken the £315 out of our account, which is for the valuation of the property we are trying to buy.
Does this mean we have got past the first stage - i.e they have approved us a credit worthy?
We had an application with RBS turned down last week, it took them 2 weeks but they never took the valuation fee.
