No exemption

Hi all.................
OR phoned this afternoon - not going to exempt my car
Has agreed a 3rd party can buy it though
Said their 'agent' would be in touch & would either accept my valuation/or their own drive-by valuation/or their book-price valuation. When I asked if the 3rd party could make an offer for the car (which I know I've read on here somewhere, in fact I think it was a response to one of my frantic posts) OR said that was up to the 'agent'
Don't know what to do now - I was hoping my 3rd party friend could make an offer to the OR???
I bought my car for £250.00 over 2 years ago, she's done 222,992 miles (diesel!) & is a bit on the rusty side - basically I think she would be taken for scrap which is SO SAD but if the book-price is too high then she'll have to go
Any advice, ideas, help would be very gratefully recieved

What is the Parkers price for it (look at the quality differences and make adjustments to yours)? If you paid £250 for it a few years ago, it can barely be worth anything now?
All I can suggest is to wait until you hear from the "agents" if the OR doesn't want to get involved. Then offer then 50% of what you paid for it.
Why did they refuse to exempt it? Would it have been otherwise? Is it worth writing to the actual OR (the head guy) and not the person you spoke to, to argue your case?0 -
It can't seriously be worth their while dealing with it for such a low value, I feel sorry for youDogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0

Thanks Skylight
won't exempt it as they have proved there is a bus service I can use instead - even though I have pointed out this is a country bus service which runs HOURLY  Also wouldn't accept I use/need my car to get my (very) elderly mum's shopping 1x week  Sorry, just find this upsetting as its hardly going to pay the OR's fee's is it?
Will check Parkers guide as you suggest & speak to 'Nigel' the Agent Nicely

Hi FP
I thought that it would cost the OR more to remove/auction than £250 !!
I`d be tempted to offer £50 (say thats scrap value) & see what they say!.....seems a very harsh OR !
Got me worried now I was hoping to keep mine worth £900 !!
