If your friends goes through the CSA they do not take money off of her child tax or working tax credits.

If she receives any income based benefits (Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance and income-related Employment and Support Allowance) then she will have to declare to them how much she receives in maintenance. She will then only get to keep up to £20 a week of the maintenance. The remainder will be deducted from the benefit amount.

If she doesn't receive income based benefits then CSA payments will not affect anything (that I'm aware of)

They only take into acount what the NRP gets not the PWC. They dont care about the NRP in any shape or form, they will even take LDA for a child into account even if the child is from the new partner that had nothing to do with the breakdown of the relationship if they can!
