rebuilding your credit

Ive recently been discharged from a scottish trust deed and would like to start rebuilding my credit so that I can eventually get a mortgage but my own bank (Halifax) wont even upgrade me to a current account(with a switch card) I dont even want an overdraft just a card other than visa electron!
Does anyone have any suggestions??

As far as i know it's not possible to 'rebuild' credit. You just have to wait until things drop off your credit file. 6 years I think.

yep its 6 years even then you may have trouble getting low interest rates.
why do you want to saddle yourself with a mortgage, enjoy life without credit. or you'll be on the slippery slope again.0 -
I agree learn to live without credit and build up a deposit. Banks look favourably on people who save a good deposit when they go to get a mortgage usualy 10 to 20% is enough.Barclaycard 3800
