HP - not yet taken ownership of car - can I pull out
Hi there everyone, had a quick glance but cant see a similar thread.
I am due to pick up a new Toyota on 26th September. I signed an agreement and put down £100.00 deposit commitment to purchase. I am due to hand in my current car as part of the deposit. This is currently on PCP finance with Citroen.
It looks like I may well be out of work in the next 2 hours and my question is, can I pull out of this agreement without having the full cost of the car registered as a default against me.
I'm bricking it and would like to have some ammunition before contacting the car salesman.
Thanks in advance for info you may have on this.

Depends on the T&Cs of what you signed. Do you have a copy?
I suspect that they won't be able to force you/register a default, but it probably depends what the T&Cs say about cancellation.
Your liability couldn't be for the whole amount anyway, as they still have the car, not you.
Hope you don't lose your job by the way!!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
