Nectarine Crumble?

I don't make crumbles very often at all, as we rarely have any fruit going soft other than soft fruits (muffins) and bananas (muffins too!).

My Hubby likes them though so I was thinking of making one tonight as a treat with some soft nectarines and a splash of chocolate ruby port left in the cupboard from Christmas

Would that work?

    How can it fail?

You can make crumbles from whatever you like.' Les Crumbles' are really popular in France at the moment and they put all sorts of things in them. I did one with bananas and nutella recently from a French website. Here's a recipe for crumble aux nectarines which has chocolate chips in the topping. This is just one of 4 nectarine crumble recipes on this particular site. If you want a translation just shout -although all it is is chop the fruit, sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar, bung in an oven proof dish, make the topping by rubbing butter and flour together, add sugar and choc chips and bake. Of course the choc is entirely optional;)
  • sounds great, and I shall take that as a sign that chocolate port would be ok over the nectarines ;)

Mmm looking forward to finishing work now to have a go ;)

You wouldn't think I qualified at a chef 9 years ago - i'm hopeless at desserts lol
