Christening present - is this OK?

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to ask for a second opinion really!
I went out today to buy a Christening pressie for our friend's little boy who is nearly 3. I thought he was a bit too old for the usual Christening things that I found when I googled for ideas. Anyhow, we went to Hamleys with the intention of getting him one of their teddy bears, but my children fell in love with one of the Paddington Bears there, dressed in wellies and duffle coat and we bought one instead.
I bought a Hamley's gift bag and he looks very lovely with his nose poking out the top - but I just keep looking at him thinking 'is he really a suitable Christening present?' I have got seven weeks yet so plenty of time to find something else and I could keep Paddington for a birthday or Xmas pressie instead. What do you think??
TIA xx

I think it is perfect! I don't like the traditional Christening gifts much anyway...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

I know what you mean - a lot of the things that came up on my google search weren't that great. Little un has a very big extended family too with a lot of Grandparents and Great Aunts etc so I am sure that they will buy a lot of that sort of stuff anyway. I did think if someone had bought my little ones a Paddington when they were christened I would have been happy so I think it's OK! Thanks for reply x0

I think it is a lovely idea, stop the doubts, he will be gratefully received, and if not send him my way0

I bought my niece a unicorn in a bag from Florida Disney when she was a babe in arms. I never thought about it again but I found out about a year ago [she's 6 now] that she has slept with it ever since I gave it to her....it is her fave toy ever. Aah! The uni-bit was chewed off years ago...I'm sure he will love it.....0
