Relatively Bad Credit - Where to go?

I have a poorish credit history. Not long ago I did a check on credit expert and they gave me a score of 771 out of 900 (Fair). But have received a couple of charges in the few months since then.
I'm having a real nightmare finding a loan. All I need is a loan to pay my outstanding debt which is a measely £3000 ish! I need to break my debts into smaller chunks, it would help out massively. But no companies are willing to lend because they see that I received charges for failing to make other payments, but not considering that the sole reason I want a loan is to prevent this! It's so annoying.
Not willing to go to debt management plan either for the sake of £3000. I'm just fed up of getting charges. Does anyone know of ANYWHERE that may be of any help?

If you are getting charges, you are obviously not meeting the terms of your existing debt. This is probably why companies are reluctant to lend to you.

I suggest you get yourself over to the Debt Free Wannabe board and post up your statement of affairs that will enable them to come up with suggestions on how to deal with your current situation.
