ok so was recently purchasing a property which was declined by the halifax because the vendor was acting as a solicitor for it as well and also he had owned the property for less than 6 months, which did raise alot of concerns.
anyway becuase of this i rose a "dissatisfaction enquiry" with halifax about it"
in the mean time i found another property i wanted which went all smoothly until now. i just found out that the dissatisfaction enqiry went to their complaints team who somehow managed to stick the complaint in my current mortgage application and they have now managed to change the status of my mortgage application from accepted to not proceeding for no reason.
its currently with their CMU (we think its compliance monitoring unit) to await what they say.
does anyone have any comments or advice of what i can do
oh and also on friday my solicitor faxed over the letter to halifax asking for the mortgage monies for completion date of this friday. i think the fax hasnt been processed yet

Why did you complain to Halifax? The scenario outlined is one in which alot of lenders have had their fingers burnt through fraud and I can understand why they turned it down when the circumstances became apparent.0

i understand the reasons for turning the first property down i dont have a problem with that, i only espressed dissatisfaction with it and moved on to purchase another property. the issue i have is that they have changed my current application to "not proceeding" because they looked at the reason why the first property was declined and has nothing to do with the current purchasewisemanswebdesign.co.uk0

"and they have now managed to change the status of my mortgage application from accepted to not proceeding for no reason."
There will be a reason, you just dont know what it is, since they are not telling you their reason - but there will definately be a reason.
Conspiracy theories could abound on this one - perhaps they think that the vendor/solicitor was involved in something dodgy with the original property and thats why they said no....
Perhaps they think you were somehow involved with the original dodgy deal and thats why they are not proceeding on this application.....
Perhaps they are just punishing you for complaining....;)
I honestly dont know what their thinking is behind this, call me naive but I would like to think that when they realise that you were not involved in any dodgy dealing they will proceed with this application and everything will turn out ok in the end.0
