Hi all.
we are moving nouse 24th august from our mortgage house to rented.
we are due to go br on the 10th sept, my question is does br effect our rented house or does it just follow me & my wife. as we are worried that the ll will want us out. we hace kept quiet on br as we were honest before we found this house & no agent would help us. it was getting desperate.

Bankruptcy is a personal thing linked to the person bankrupt NOT the address...so wont affect an address
you will though need to check the tenancy agreement with your rented place see if there's a bankrupt clause anywhere?..bear in mind as well some OR's (not all) will ring landlords to check your living at the address your rentingWe all die. Do not think that the landlord has a moral right to know about your bankruptcy? Not for a moment do I suggest that you should not be able to rent somewhere decent to live, but your financial status is very important to someone who is trusting you with their investment.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. and remember there's no better a person than a bankrupt to rent a place somewhere....the rent will always be paid on time & they've no debt!
besides IF the agreement or indeed the landlord don't ask about bankrupts then you dont morally or otherwise have to say a single word......We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
but if the o.r says to them, then we will have to come clea, although i may say something any ways after br just to calm it down. better to come from me than the o.r.BR on 10th september 2009. :shhh::shhh::shhh:

Thing is though not all OR's inform landlords so its very hit & miss....if you did want to tell the landlord then thats your decision.....others have done in the past & been suprised that the landlord thanked them for the info & continued to live at the add and as well the relationship between LL and tennant is much much betterWe all die.
