HSBC Life Time tracker Special

What are your thoughts on the lifetime tracker deal

+2.45% on BoE base rate
£799 booking fee

no tie in
overpayments allowed
no earlypayment charge
interest daily

Sounds good to me - but I am not too clued up on mortgages

Appreciate people's thoughts

  • oh and i notice that First Direct (which I believe is owned by HSBC)
have a base rate tracker - same terms as the HSBC but with Offset

    - would the offset deal be better?

I took this when it was BoE +0.23%. But with all major economies coming out of recession and talk of interest rate rises a +2.45 looks a littile too much.

I agree with maveli .I too am on the life time tracker, but would it sound so good if rates were 5.5% ?.
If you have other savings maybe the offset but still I,m not sure tracker is the way to go at the minute.
