I'm starting to feel better again so should be in again this week!

House should be going on the market in the next couple of days (that is a week from valuation- I'm quite proud of everything I've managed to get done- couldn't have done it without this thread)

As well as keeping on top of the housework I need to do lots of prep for school this week.

Thanks to Pigpen, Toots and Soappie for keeping the thread running.

Good luck with this weeks lists everyone

can I just say, never again am I washing curtains. This all stems from last weeks challenge to wash them!

Because it was late, we decided to do them the next day as I don't like washing machines to run overnight. It keeps me awake and they are well known for causing house fires.

I took them down (which required a trip to get a set of precision screwdrivers as the last lot broke) and put them in the wash.

Because we were going down the allotment and then onto a BBQ, my wife put them on tumbledry - it's not MSE, but we needed dry curtains for that night as I find it very difficult to sleep without them.

At 6pm we got home from the BBQ to find that the invisible stitching had come undone and they trailed everywhere. We didn't have any new invisible stitching so my wife popped round to her mums to get them done, where she had a huge row over wedding photos which seemed somewhat pointless.

Because of the row, it was too late to get them mended and her mum wouldn't let her take them away, so she insisted she keep them and mend them in the morning.

Next day, having had less sleep due to the amount of light coming into the room, I was in a pretty foul mood, and moaned about all sorts of things, causing another row in our own flat because we had to go round there to pick them up - I didn't want to get involved, it'd only take one of us to go round and they were after all her parents, but I was needed for morale support.

By the time we'd got back, I was exhausted and really trying to be in a good mood. I cooked a roast from the allotment veggies but not before accidently causing yet another argument. At 10pm I finally got the curtains back up.

    blaahhhhhhhh! What a palarva!

So that's why I'm never, ever taking down a set of curtains unless I have new ones to put up straight away...

  • Good morning Everyone!

Thankyou Pigpen, Toots and Soappie for all of your lists and support!

Right I am in for this week as it is looking like next week will be moving Mum and Dad week.

No work done here at all yesterday as I went to Amersham but I did pack 11 boxes and got rid of half of Dad's car full of charity shop stuff. also loads of brooms, mops and bits of wood ready for the dump. Dad won't be taking these today as he has a hospital appointment for his eye and cannot drive today. Mum got really down during the day as I was being quite ruthless with her stuff (loads and I mean loads of newpaper clippings etc) so we sat down with a plan of the rooms and measured furniture and placed on the plans - Mum could see how small it really is and how little will fit. But when she is in it will be ok as it is the right thing for them both - just a difficutl process. On the plus side the Council have painted at least the kitchen (was a yukky bigth orange) and Dad's bedroom. And they have changed to burnt worktops and moved one so Mum can fit the fridge freezer in. Not sure what they have done in the back as I couldn't see but they should get the keys this week.

I need to make sure that they book removal men - hopfully for next week and they also need to order carpets and lino for the kitchen. I need to complete the Attendance Allowance form for Mum.

I have just spent a nice peaceful hour with my cup of tea catching up on all of your posts - you are a busy lot! :D

So here is my list - I have had to tweak it a lot - sorry!

    Morning all
Thanks to pigpen, toots and soappie for keeping us all in order.

The house looks OK so (with our illustrious leader's permission) I will be working from my own list - on the principle that I stand a better chance of doing things if I have posted them here.

    Crafty's list

Set up Refworks and list books.
Stack books and work through systematically.

That just shows you how often my iron comes out the box lol.

Dildo rail !! explanation. My nephew when he was about 7 wrote a story at school for what they had done at the weekend it went like this.

This weekend we went shopping because my mum wanted a dildo for the bedroom. My dad bought it and it was wooden and very long.
