Please don't feel crappy - my daughter went through a short phase when she would only eat babyfood if the savoury and sweet were mixed together! As she grew she was never a picky child after that. She's now 24 and very healthy indeed.

What may be worth a try is mixing the pouch food you buy half and half with your homemade equivalent - that way the slight changes in taste/texture. If that goes down well you could then go a third/two thirds etc. etc. I have found over the years that the phases babies and children go through tend to last only until you're beginning to get really worried, then the phase will stop and be replaced by another worrying phase.

Feeding your baby only homemade baby food does not make you a better mum - regardless of what the baby-police might tell you.

Thank you-i hadn't thought if mixing some of mine with the pouches but will def give it a go tomorrow, fingers crossed it works!!

My two boys both loved purees but my daughter wouldn't touch them, I ended up doing Baby Led Weaning (using big pieces of food, if you google it you will find an explaination far better than mine!) which she loved. They are all different!

First of all.... don't feel crappy. You are doing brilliantly to persevere.

I would second the idea of mixing HM with shop bought and gradually reducing the shop bought until it's gone. I'm sure you went through this with your son but remember to introduce lumpiness quite soon. ;)
  • What age is she? If she is around 6 months, have you considered BLW (baby lead weaning)?
