All,
I am starting to make regular OP's on my SVR with Alliance and Lester, the amount will differ from month to month, so I was going to put the money into an account and every 3 months back off a lump sum.
My question is that I would like to track this and see how my payments are having a positive effect on the mortgage, does anyone know of how to create this in excel or have any templates or software I can use / buy.

Here's a mortgage overpayment calculator. It's pretty handy. I dare say it is possible to recreate a similar item in excel, there is a PMT formula (google it), that will help give a figure for an amount of money paid over a period of time against a percentage. It might be a bit fiddly with your rate adjusting each month, however this might give you a few ideas whilst you're researching:
