Hi, today we went out for lunch to a local pub for a carvery (not very money saving I know) but we did a car boot this morning to technically it was free..lol.
Anyhow, whilst second from the front to be served I heard the lady in front, who knew the chef and was obviously a regular, ask the chef if they still sold the turkey carcass for a pound? 'no', replied chef, 'we just give them away'. WELL... that made my ears !!!!! up, I got served, and then got OH to ask chef for the cracass, which he gladly gave..lol.
It has now been stripped and there is more meat than on a large chicken..lol.
Can I stoop much lower in my quest to save money ( or not to be ripped off by shops over inflated prices!) lol.

at our local cafe near work, they save me all the crusts from the loaves of bread, aparently i give them to my chickens:rolleyes:;):DWork to live= not live to work0 -
shame u dont live in deal i always end up throwing it away when i have it left in the shop there's only so much bread u can freeze and when i reduce stuff it never seems to sell0
