loan post bankruptcy

HiI hope that all are doing okay.....and forgive the title of my message - I am sure that, just like myself, the thought of ever wanting to borrow another penny having been through insolvency seems absurd.I was discharged one year ago and I still have just a cash card account with Barclays and have not applied for absolutely anything - not even attempted to change my Barclays account to a current one...I want a loan of £1,500.I work full time and my budget would allow me to repay this. I have not yet `cleaned up` my credit account though. I find it so infuriating because you have to enter your card number to view your report and I cannot do this as I do not have a debit card (and certainly not a credit card - infact even given the option I would never have another credit card in my life). My questions are : (1) How do you view your credit report when you cannot put in your card details.(I think that Fermi gave the information or a link some time back to what to do to `clean up` your credit rating etc....and I shall have to look for this).(2) What would be the chances of my bank giving me a loan.(3) If they are hesitant, do you think they would offer me a loan with a guarantor who is very financially stable indeed. (although I dont really want to go down this route).I want the loan for dental treatment and have been putting it off for such a long time.....evey time I start saving and have managed to put a fair amount towards it away something comes up and i have to use it.I would be very grateful if anybody could answer my questions please.Very many thanks and best wishes.

Hi, I didn't want to read and run really but I don't think I have any advice for you what to do. I'm new you see, just my 7th day of being BR and gone through a whole lot of emotional torment with it all this week.

Please excuse my huffy teenage rant that will follow (i'm 30!) ..

please, please, please don't borrow!! Please don't!!

There, that's of my chest. Like I said I'm raw, and worried about everything, decided I've been a fool the the lenders who have played me to meake money - not to help me like I thought.

I hope you get the answers that you're looking for and get the treatment that you would like and I hope you don't mind me pleading with you. I'm looking out for you really, not judging at all x

You can send off £2.00 postal order (or cheque) to the credit reference agencies and your credit file will be with you within the week. Thats the way I did mine.

Follow the £2 thing that 5YP has mentioned.

I don't think that you are going to get a loan even after a credit clear-up, this soon after BR. How low is your income?? Are you entitled to working tax credit (but not child tax credit on top) as you would get free dental care (not cosmetic) then. Or speak to your dentist about it. You are more likely to be offered instalments via them than a loan - perhaps half upfront, you could save it and earn a spot of interest rather than paying a lot.

Thank you everybody for your replies. I did not think I would have much chance of a loan to be honest but was not sure. I am not entitled to anything - tax credits etc......thank you for the info about sending £2 for my credit report. Many thanks again and I hope that all is going well for everybody. All I can say to anybody in the throes of bankruptcy etc - although it turns your world upside down at the time, for me, it really was not as bad as I had anticipated....I hope that all goes well for everybody.Take care and thank you again.
