Credit report-a different question.

I think most of us are getting used to knowing that settled accounts stay on file for 6 years ,as does all bankruptcy references.

However, does this 6 year 'rule' apply to other aspects of the credit report.
i think searches stay on for one year-is that correct ?

What about things like financial associtions where the search was done say by a previous mortgage company 5 years ago.Can i apply to have thatsearch/association removed after 6 years.

If there is anything else on the credit report in excess of 6 years-can i apply to have it removed ?

Guidance appreciated.

thanks
