I hope that you're happy with your own behaviour and believe me that the people that you have been abusing day in day out at the tax office will be really wanting to assist you with your complaint NOT..... all the records will be noted that you're a pain in the a*se. I hope I dont get your next call and i'm SURE that there will be one.
Wouldnt it be really funny if you didnt actually qualify for a refund...0 -
Can I ask, are you representing HMR&C on this site? In regards to "abusing" thats a very strong statement to make. I have been provided with more information on this site than I have with HMR&C call centre. I have not swore at any staff, or used any bad language. Sorry to hear you feel that way. All I have been told is HMCR have now lost my claim.
As for qualifying for a refund, I am 100% sure that I am, so not sure where your going with that one.
If you work for one of the call centres, maybe you could provide me with a direct line and your name so I can contact you directly.
All the best, and thanks for your contributionI hope that you're happy with your own behaviour and believe me that the people that you have been abusing day in day out at the tax office will be really wanting to assist you with your complaint NOT..... all the records will be noted that you're a pain in the a*se. I only represent my own opinions.
And although petty they are called HMRC contact centres, which are also part of the tax office and are manned by trained taxes advisors, who unfortunately have no access to the post that is sent to the tax office but who do take the general abuse from the public re the delays.
As its a contact centre there are no direct lines.0 -

So all the mail was sent recorded delivery, but when you sent your letter of complaint you never mentioned that.
I presume that you have checked the Royal Mail website to ensure that they were delivered. If this was the further bad experience you have received then I take it you have complained to them and received adequate compensation.
In life it seems you are a constant victim.
Royal Mail give you bad experiences
Someone steals your identity
Your spell checker doesn't work
HMRC tell you the truth.
Your employer takes too much tax off you. He's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0 -
yeah all the mail was recorded as mentioned before, did not think it was relavent to mention this in my complaint, dont change the fact HMC&R have delayed and then lost my claim. Yes received some compensation from the royal mail, and yes checked the website.
not a victim at all. next???So all the mail was sent recorded delivery, but when you sent your letter of complaint you never mentioned that.

I telephoned HMR&C today, to see if my my response to my complaint had been sent to me (on or before 16th September 2009 says the holding letter) I am advised the response would go out on Friday 19th September 2009, maybe complaint responses are now delayed due to there computer systems.
In view of the postal problems I asked if my response could be emailed to me, but I was informed responses cant be emailed incase they get lost.
I asked if I could be told of the amount of money expected, they dont provide that service either. Assuming the response is sent out past there own deadline, it would be sent second class, yes more of a delay, and with the backlog of post, wonder if I will hear from them in september????
Despite me waiting since June, same advise presented, sit tight and wait.
Keep up the good work HMR&C !!!! your doin a fine jobTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Im with Trinidadone on this one. I also wonder how many of HMRC's staff are trying to defend their shoddy service on this thread.
In my experience HMRC are ruthless, money grabbing and lacking in any compassion for the difficulties people are facing today. 5 weeks may seem like a realatively short space of time to you but if you had had to cope with lying out a large sum of money, by way of an overpayment , 5 weeks is a very long time.
Also the attitude of many HMRC personnel leaves a lot to be desired, maybe they should remember that by definition they are "public servants" and without the tax paying public they wouldnt actually have a job!!!0 -

Thanks for the support money pit, i was beginning to feel underfire by some of the staff of HMR&C on here. Its now been three months since i have asked for my money. Its hard times right now, prices have rocketed, and like many people i am trying to keep afloat. My biggest grip is my dealings with them. I really dont feel they have met me half way. Even this mornings conversation was a joke. The holding letter told me I would hear from them by tomorrow, and when i make enquires myself, i am told a letter would be out on friday. No explanation, no apology. They seem to make there own rules up.
Thanks for the support thoughTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
