This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

  • Well I was red last week spending about £30 I think. I am going for £30 this week to see if I can make it but I am not starting until I return from Edinburgh tomorrow as I am off to the festival. £30 will include everything spent as the grocery budget is depleated sadly but there is quite a bit of food in the house so should not be too bad.

This thread seemed to lose steam last week, I know I didn't post much and there seems to be a link between me overspending and not posting

So roll up roll up anyone and everyone welcome. If you have seen this thread before but never joined try it this week and see how you get on.

  • I am sorely in need of some motivation this week, so please may I join this challenge. I would like to put down for £15. I think this may be a bit ambitious, but it needs to be as don't get any money to speak of for over a week.

    Wish me luck

  • Hi all,

I'm going to try for £20.00 "spending money" this week and see how I get on! Have a real habit of wasting money on little things

Can I join you all please? I would like to aim for £25 this week as just starting!!

Ive had a no spend day today - Yipee! Had thought about going out for lunch then thought again and kept my pennies :rotfl: Heres hoping I can keep up this way of thinking as I have been wastimg far too much money on eating out and takeaways and sweets and mags so here goes........
  • Evening all. Did you have fun at the fest P-P? See anything good?

After a couple of weeks of haywire spending I'm rejoining this thread!! Need to get back on track.

Can you put me down for £5 please as I now really need to watch the pennies until payday next week. As usual covering all non-essentials not budgeted for elsewhere.

Good luck to those new to this thread!
